It’s no secret that I’ve gained weight since I quit my full-time job last year, and I’ve been working on shedding some of that extra poundage so my jeans will fit and I’ll have enough energy to chase my rowdy crew. When I started a regular exercise routine, I found that I needed to invest in a few items to make working out feasible – namely some workout clothes I could wear to Zumba without embarrassing myself, and some good running shoes. I didn’t want to spend a ton of money, so I headed to Gordmans.
Thankfully, Gordmans has a great selection of workout gear and athletic shoes, and you can’t beat the prices. I roamed the store and put together my list of the five things you need for your fitness routine this fall:
I am the embodiment of a SAHM cliche; I love Starbucks, Target, and yoga pants. Turns out these things are really great for exercise, too. I love these gray and blue ones from Puma.
Walking and running outside requires a jacket that is lightweight but warm. I found lots of different choices at Gordmans, but my favorite were these, with coordinating workout pants if matching is your thing.
Because sometimes your husband will text you during Zumba and ask you to pick up milk on the way home, and pit stains are not cute.
I don’t have to explain this one, right? Gordmans had lots of Jockey sports bras, my all-time favorite brand.
The workout itself is already going to make me sore; I don’t need shoes that hurt my feet, too. I had a hard time choosing between the shoes at Gordmans; I particularly loved these Filas that were under $60(!). I ended up with a super-lightweight pair of Pumas that are perfect for Zumba…and walking through Target in my yoga pants.
