I am a big supporter of shopping local, supporting local business, using natural products, and knowing as much as possible about the things I consume. Being able to talk one-on-one with the people who produce the products I love? That’s awesome.

The Indiana Artisan Marketplace gives Hoosiers the opportunity to do just that. I attended for the first time last year, and was blown away by all the amazing things that the artisans in our home state create and sell. The artisans were right there to talk about their products, answer questions, and sometimes even provide samples. I fell in love with gourmet marshmallows, nuns who make cookies, and beautiful hand-made leather journals…and these were just SOME of the things available at the Indiana Artisan Marketplace.

Indiana Artisan Marketplace

This year the Indiana Artisan Marketplace is happening March 29th and 30th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Tickets are super-affordable at only $10, and your ticket gives you access to over 150 artisans from all over the state. This year, there will even be live demonstrations from some of the artisans, showing how they create their items. This is truly a unique event that only comes to Indianapolis once a year, so don’t miss it. You can find out more information about the event here. It would cost you HUNDREDS of dollars to drive all over the state and view these works on your own, so this is truly an amazing opportunity and a great deal.
