‘Tis the season! No matter how you celebrate, most of us parents have our minds on holiday gifts. What do our kids want? What do we want them to have? How the heck are we going to afford it all?

Lots of bloggers to a really great job of putting together holiday gift guides with all the latest and greatest toys and gadgets available. I am not that blogger. Instead, I decided to devote a Five on Friday to holiday gifts – five real gifts that I am buying (or have already bought) for my boys. So if you have boys between the ages of 3 and 5, and you need a little inspiration, check out what will be under our tree this year:

5 Gifts for Preschool-Aged Boys Under $25

Animal Planet’s Big Tub of Dinosaurs – Dinosaurs are a big deal in our house, and our oldest specifically asked for more dinosaurs for Christmas. I went with the Big Tub of Dinosaurs because it’s a great price ($24.34 with shipping on Amazon), comes with a cool floor mat and scenery, and has it’s own storage tub. The best part? Thanks to Swagbucks and Bing Rewards, I was able to pay for this completely with Amazon Gift Cards! As of 12/3/13 the price on Amazon for this product has gone up. You can still get it for $19.99 at Toysrus.com.

Schylling Cosmic Blasters – Both boys will be opening this one on Christmas morning. We saw these when we visited Mass Ave Toys, and I literally had to wrestle my youngest to get him to put it back (he said it was his Han Solo blaster). This is a fun, classic toy that is totally affordable ($10 at Mass Ave Toys, $10.99 on Amazon).

Thor Helmet – My youngest loves Thor. I made him a Thor helmet out of paper last week, and he wore it until it was falling apart. I decided to save paper and tape by buying him a “real” one on Amazon (again with my gift cards!). This one was a great deal at $9.99, and it should hold up better that the poor thing that came out of our printer. As of 12/3/13, this item is only $7.49 on Amazon!

Black and Decker Tool Box – Another specific request from my oldest was tools. This little tool box looks just like grown-up tools, and is a great deal at only $11.16 on Amazon (why yes, I do do all my shopping online). I love that this comes with a neat little tool box he can carry around. As of 12/3/13, this product is down to $11.01 on Amazon!

Toy Story Bullseye Plush Doll – Our youngest has slowly been accumulating Toy Story toys. He got Jessie for his birthday, and now he wants a Bullseye to go with her. Disney-themed toys aren’t always cheap; but I thought that $21.84 on Amazon was a pretty good price for this 19″ plush. This will great with the $3 Woody costume I found on clearance at Target!

What are your kids asking for this holiday season?
