When I posted on the blog Facebook page that I was trying out Green BEAN Delivery, one of my fabulous readers commented, “You will love it SO HARD.”
You guys, I love it SO HARD. And I think you will, too.
What is Green BEAN Delivery?
Green BEAN Delivery is a delivery service for produce and natural groceries. You create an account online, select the type of bin you want to receive, and select your delivery frequency. Once your account is set-up online, you can log into your account and see what’s coming in your bin. Don’t like or need something listed? You can swap it out for other available produce. You can also add grocery items to your order as well. Then on your delivery day, a green bin will arrive outside your door, filled with goodies. The next week, you leave your bin outside and it’s swapped out for a new one. (Here’s some more detail about how it works.)
I love fresh fruits and vegetables, so I was super excited when I was asked to try out Green BEAN Delivery and share my experience with you. Creating my account online was easy – all that’s needed is a valid credit or debit card. I went with the small produce bin, which is the perfect size for our little family. Within a day I received an email asking me to customize my order.
This is my favorite part.
You get to add and remove and play around until you get the perfect produce order. Seriously, I spent an hour playing around with this, finding just the right combination of fruit and veggies to feed us for the week. And I loved it. So many delicious choices! So much possibility!
Yes, this is my idea of fun.
Next comes the big day, Delivery Day, which is Wednesday at our house. If you had seen my oldest son and I, you would have thought we were waiting for Santa to bring us our presents. It’s pretty awesome to see your kid get excited about vegetables. When the box came, I let him do the honors, and we examined our fresh produce.
So, how was it?
Well, those grapes you see were gone in about 24 hours because they were so delicious. We couldn’t stop eating them. The corn on the cob was probably the best I’ve ever had. The carrots, potatoes, and onion were awesome when I used them in this recipe. Broccoli, green beans, apples – all incredibly tasty. And most of our order was organic and/or locally grown.
Here’s the bottom line: after receiving our complimentary box for this review, we decided to continue our membership and continue to receive weekly bins from Green BEAN Delivery. That’s how much we liked it.
