Most of the time, I’m so exhausted from a full day of working, chasing my kids, and trying (failing) to keep up with my messy home that falling asleep isn’t a problem. Staying awake is usually my problem. Most nights my head hits the pillow and then it’s lights out.
But sometimes, I have so much going on that my mind just can’t slow down. The kids have soccer. I have deadlines to meet. I have lesson plans to finish. Events to attend. There’s so much going on and I just can’t help it – I lie awake at night thinking about all of these things, and no matter how hard I try, I can’t shut it down and go to sleep. I know I need to sleep if I’m going to get all of those things done, but I can’t get my body to get on the same page.
I had one of those nights last week. I had a weekend approaching that was full of family obligations, plus I had several deadlines to meet. We had church events, and the dirty dishes were threatening to escape the sink and overtake the kitchen. I needed to do something so I could sleep and face the day ahead of me, so I took ZzzQuil, from the makers of NyQuil. ZzzQuil helps you sleep just like NyQuil does, but ZzzQuil is JUST for sleep. It helps reduce the time it takes you to fall asleep.
I sampled the liquid version of ZzzQuil, and the Warming Berry flavor was better than most liquid medicines I’ve tried. I liked ZzzQuil because its effects came on gradually – I wasn’t all of the sudden knocked out. It worked over the course of about 20 minutes to help me fall asleep. I was worried that it might be hard for me to wake up the next day, but I woke up with my alarm and experienced minimal groginess. After my morning cup of coffee, I was ready to go. ZzzQuil definitely helped keep me from a late night of tossing and turning. I plan on using ZzzQuil again, but I think next time I will be trying the liquid capsule version, since I prefer swallowing a pill.
If you struggle with occasional sleeplessness, consider checking out ZzzQuil. It helped me fall asleep quickly, and I didn’t feel like a zombie the next day.
