Fitbit Stats

It’s interesting to see the person I’m becoming.

First, after setting my New Year’s goals, I decided to set one more (inspired by my friend Cris and her Year2Change) – I wanted to take at least 10,000 steps each day. And guess what? I’ve been doing it! Seriously, I used be a professional lazy person. And now I’m taking 10,000 steps a day. Today, I’ve actually taken 11,203 steps (according to my Fitbit). What. the. heck?

Then, because I have clearly lost my mind, yesterday I decided to join some of my Mamavation sisters in committing to doing 13 5k races in 2013. Yep, that’s right. I just voluntarily committed to getting up early on various Saturday mornings to run (sl0wly, but it counts!). I am going to be paying money for the opportunity to run. Seriously. The mind, it boggles.

Here it is a day later, and I’m already signed up for my first race – a virtual 5k that I’m doing on a team with my Mamavation sisters. I don’ t think I would have pictured myself doing this even 60 days ago. I am being pushed out of my comfort zone and it is kind of amazing. A little scary, but amazing. I am going to be slow at first. I will whine about how sore I am. A few months ago I would have let those things keep me from even trying. But not this year. This is my year to try, and to keep going, even if I fail.
