I want to start this post by thanking the amazing Mamavation community for your support this past week. Even though I am new to the group, I’ve been welcomed with open arms and that has been a huge motivation for me. If you’re looking to make healthy lifestyle changes, Mamavation is the way to go. I can’t say enough good things about this group of women!

My two big goals for this week were to drink more water and incorporate regular exercise into my week. I am happy to say that I met both of my goals this week! My Britta Bottle has been my constant companion this week, so I have dramatically increased my water intake (and trips to the bathroom). Even better, I have fallen in love with walking. I’ve worked out for five of the past seven days, and four of those days were long (for me) walks outside. One walk started on the treadmill, but without music to fuel me I just got too bored. After a mile on the treadmill I headed back outside to finish my walk.

In addition to the great exercise, I’ve been able to enjoy the beauty of fall in Indiana. The weather here has been amazing this week – sunny, a little cool, with clear blue skies. The fall foliage is breathtaking. I’ve lived here most of my life, and I never get tired of seeing the trees change color. If I hadn’t taken the time to walk around the neighborhood this week, I would have missed out on all that beauty. I am starting to wish I would have done this sooner.

This week really wasn’t about the numbers, but I did get on the scale this morning and guess what? I am down 2.8 pounds! That was an exciting and unexpected development.

My goal for this week is just to keep on keeping on. Next week I start the Mamavation/Bob Harper Two Week Challenge. I am alternately excited and terrified about doing the challenge. I am determined to complete the challenge, but I am also scared…I am really out of shape. It may kill me. But if I die in a sweaty heap in my living room, I will die knowing that I did NOT give up on the challenge. I’d actually like that on my gravestone, if you don’t mind.
