I love buying cute clothes for my boys, but I hate paying full price. Most of the time you will find my little guys in clearance rack steals, hand-me-downs from friends, or clothes from consignment sales and used clothing stores. They always look great, and I spent a lot less money.
That’s why I’m so excited about the Indy Kids Sale, which is coming to the Hamilton County Fairgrounds September 13-15 and a NEW location, the Hancock County Fairgrounds September 27-29. With these two sales, you have a great opportunity to make money and a great opportunity to save money.
You can make money at the Indy Kids Sale by signing up to be a consignor and selling some of those items you don’t need anymore. Clean out the closet and pack up all of last winter’s clothes; you can make a 60-75% commission by selling them at the Indy Kids Sale. You are guaranteed a minimum commission of 60%, with higher commissions coming if you volunteer at the sale or refer new shoppers. Consignors also get to shop the private pre-sale event the night before the sale! This is a great opportunity to make some cash for Christmas presents and get rid of some clutter. You can find more information about being a consignor on the Indy Kids Sale homepage. There are some great incentives offered for those who consign at both sales or refer friends!
If you’re looking to save money on clothes and toys for the fall and winter, you will want to make sure you shop the Indy Kids Sale. Admission to the sale is free, and it is organized to include only fall and winter items, so you won’t need to worry about sorting through what you don’t need to find what you do need! The Indy Kids Sale website has some great shopping tips for the sale, as well as an informative FAQ.
I shopped the sale for the first time in the spring, and I found some great deals. My only regret is that I waited until Saturday to go. Saturday is 1/2 off day, where most items are marked to 50% off. However, Saturday is also the last day of the sale, so I had missed out on a lot of great deals. My advice? Go to the Indy Kids Sale early and go often. Go Thursday or Friday for great selection, and then come back on Saturday for the deep discounts!
The sale hours are:
- Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
